Trashy but Flashy Fashion Show 2012 - Official Contest Rules

ELIGIBILITY The 2012 Trashy but Flashy Fashion Show is open to all Fernie and surrounding area residents of all ages, who meet the eligibility criteria as stated in these official rules.
HOW TO ENTER Applicants are invited to create wearable artwork using recycled, reused or found materials that otherwise would be thrown away or recycled. Paint, glue, thread, tape, etc are permitted. Pieces must be durable for wear in rehearsal and in the fashion show. Vintage clothes do not qualify.
PAYMENT TO ENTER To enter applicants must pay their $20 fee by the deadline of 3pm on April 19th, 2012 to participate. You may do this either online by clicking the button at the end of the online application or by dropping off at the Wildsight Office at 891 2nd Ave Fernie in a sealed envelope with your name, phone number, and email, adressed as 'Earth Day'. Students qualify for a reduced participation rate of $10.
RULES OF SUBMISSION Submissions must be original, must be the work of the submitting Applicant. Any Application, which in the coordinator's sole judgement, contains content which is not suitable for display will not be considered. Artists application form must arrive online before midnight, or in person at the Wildsight Office before 4pm on Thursday April 19th to be considered for inclusion.
FASHION SHOW CONTEST All Artists will be responsible for supplying a model, be it themselves, or a friend for the Flashy but Trashy Fashion Show Contest. All models must participate in the dress rehearsal at 11am prior to the event on Sunday April 22nd. All participants must sign a photo release form.
JUDGING DURING FASHION SHOW Pieces in show will be judged by a panel of judges, of which will be selected by the Flashy but Trashy Fashion Show coordinators. Pieces will be judged based on:
- Amount of recycled material used,
- Unique use of materials,
- Creativity, and
- Craftsmanship.
PRIZES Six hundred dollars in cash prizes will be distributed to the winners. Prize money will be awarded in the form of a check.

3pm - Deadline for registration and payment
Sunday, April 22nd
11am-1pm - Dress Rehearsal & Registration
2pm - Body Paint and Hair
2:30pm - All models backstage
3pm - Fashion Show begins
5pm - Fashion Show complete
