Victoria Avenue Summer Downtown Social Update

Don't forget to checkout the awesome Think Local First Cardholder deals at Downtown Socials this summer.

Wednesday Downtown Social

This week was the first of the Wednesday Downtown Social Market & Concert Series. The rain deterred a number of vendors however, the turn out for the band, Jack Mercer and the Whiskey Bandits and beer garden was great and a true testament to the ‘resilience’ of the Fernie resident and Visitor. Fingers crossed for sunshine....

August 3 - Faceplant, a local Fernie band quickly becoming a favourite!
August 17 - Erin Frances - Wapiti Windup Party!
August 31 - Mike and Anie Hepher and Guests

The event kicks off at 12.30pm with a hula hoop competition on stage – come and show Fernie your moves!!

The pedestrian safe Victoria Avenue (2nd ave) will be closed to traffic early so come along, sit outside and enjoy the sun and sample one of our cafe’s top-notch cuisine. Children can play safely with the sidewalk chalk, enjoy cycling in the middle of the street or enjoy story-time presented by the Library.

Thanks to the venue’s unique indoor-outdoor layout, you can enjoy all our businesses have to offer or sit outside to enjoy the sun and the beautiful backdrop from Fernie Downtown.

Trunk Treasures is on the move – we are changing the location to Victoria Avenue. Please come along and present all your treasures to Fernie. Sort out your basement or your garage and sell, sell sell (secondhand/used items only please). Dave Hamilton of the Free Press will be available to show you where to park and set-up.

No idea is a bad idea, please let us know if you have any ideas for furutre events

The Summer Downtown Initiative is only a success because people participate and are prepared to get involved.
